Leisure: Philly in Fall

October 15, 2017 in travel photography, leisure, travel

Mostly pictures, some words.

But we're not getting fat over here.

Claude Monet painting. Those pastels are everything. The colors make me feel calm instantly.

I am a creative person. I love art but I do not know much about art technically. I cannot pore over technical methods and genres of art. Yet, I love going to art museums in whatever city I go to. I tend to favor more contemporary art over classical art. I like looking at beautiful things. The Philadelphia Art Museum had a lot of classical art and some contemporary.

Cy Twombly - Like a Fire that consumes all before it. This one speaks to my rage. The artist was inspired by Homer the Iliad.

I aspire to be a true artist, a luminous fountain. Speaking of art, some people don’t consider photography art -___-  Unbelievable! You ever walk through an art gallery and think “that’s art?! I could do that!” But you didn’t! You didn’t think of it first. I think it’s important to get your ideas out of your head and into something physical or digital —whatever your medium is.

Quan Yin - Goddess of Compassion. There were many different depictions of Qu’an Yin throughout the museum and they stood out to me. I like her cool demeanor and feminine dress. I see myself in her.

Don’t it look like I’m in Kyoto?! I actually fooled my friend who’s been there before.   Btw - I just watched Hidden figures and it was amazing and inspiring af.

That veggie platter tho! First time having Ethiopian food and definitely not the last. Aside from eating with my hands, my favorite part was the collard greens.

Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant - 229 S 45th St. I just found out that there is an Abyssinia in West Hartford. Abyssinia is the historical name for Ethiopia. I was excited to finally try Ethiopian food because I did a DNA test and Ethiopia was listed as one of my top countries in Africa.
